Night has a language of its own. You hear it in the crackle of a wick, the rustle of old pages and the silence after you speak the name of someone you miss.
That is when the questions return. Can a love ritual open a path to reconciliation? How long before the silence ends? Pause with those questions before lighting the candle.
In silentio, cor loquitur.
In silence, the heart speaks.
What lies behind a ritual?
I have worked with rituals for more than thirty years. In my practice the candle, oil, herbs and spoken words come together around an intention. Each gesture has a place, and each object a meaning. A ritual sets aside a space to face longing, desire and what has remained unspoken.
Amor non cogitur.
Love cannot be forced.
How long does change take?
I give no deadline. There is no established, verified time after which a ritual brings love or restores contact. If you feel calmer afterwards or find it easier to name your needs, that is your own experience. Judge renewed contact and reconciliation by the other person’s words and actions.
Cuncta suo tempore.
Everything in its own time.
Is a dream, a song or a familiar name a sign?
When we miss someone, details stand out. A name on a screen, a song you heard together or an intense dream can carry personal meaning. Voluntary contact and consistent behaviour are clearer signs of interest. Give yourself room to live without searching for omens throughout the day.
After the flame goes out
Put the book aside and return to everyday life. Rest, see someone close and do what helps you feel grounded. Consider a calm conversation when contact is welcome. Respect boundaries and any request for no contact. Give yourself time before deciding whether to repeat a ritual.
Respice cor tuum.
Look into your heart.
Ask yourself whether you want the relationship as it was or the one you imagine. Is there space for your needs? Do both of you want to open the same door?
Why can a return feel special?
After a long silence, a short “How are you?” can awaken memories. A return can bring hope and questions. What has changed? Can you hear each other this time?
Reditus initium esse potest.
A return can be a beginning.
What matters is the voluntary decision of two people to meet again. A return can open space for an honest conversation, rebuilding trust and understanding what you both want.
